<div itemprop="description"><br />The family of Joyce Kennelly is sad to announce her peaceful passing on Saturday, July 12, 2014.<br /><br />She was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on August 25, 1929 and moved to the Lakehead as a young girl. In 1947, she married Michael Mayer and together they raised 4 children. They enjoyed camping, dancing, bowling and bingo. Their house, whether in Harstone or in the city, was always the gathering place for family and friends. It was important to her to be surrounded by her loved ones. She worked for many years as a cook at Westmount Hospital before retiring.<br /><br />Predeceased by her husband Michael in 1983, she was fortunate to find love again with Edward Kennelly. They married in 1986 and spent summers camping at Arrow Lake. Edward passed away in 1999.<br /><br />She is survived by her children: Carol (Richard Elder), Bill (Jan) Mayer, Ruth (Gary Armstrong) and Joy (Richard Ashton). Also surviving are grandchildren: Spencer (Hanna), Chris (Tammy), Clayton (Fiona), Keith, Cora (Greg), Alison (Murray), Patrick (Sue), Heather (Brad), Adrienne (Brian) and Kathleen (Ben) as well as many great-grandchildren, cousin Diane Piovesana and numerous nieces and nephews.<br /><br />Left to mourn are her brothers Robert Stratford (Carolyn) and Bud Stratford (Bernice); sisters Dorothy Marini, Shirley Popowich (Ron), Debbie Rosnow (Brian), Darlene Clace (Don); brother-in-law Doug Savela and sister-in-law Joyce Stratford.<br /><br />She was also predeceased by her parents, daughter Mary (in infancy), siblings June Wheeler, Barbara Savela and John (Jack) Stratford.<br /><br />A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 in the Tiberio Room of the Airlane Hotel from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.<br /><br /><br /><br /></div>
