<div itemprop="description">REGINALD URBAN<br /><br />August 6, 1924 &ndash; April 21, 2013<br /><br /><br /><br />It is with great sadness that the Urban family announces the sudden passing of (Wladyslaw) Reginald Urban, 88 years, of Thunder Bay, Ontario on Sunday, April 21, 2013 in his home. Reg was born August 6, 1924 in Rural of Municipality of Glenwood, Souris, MB to John &amp; Sophie Urban. <br /><br /><br /><br />Reg started his career with the CPR as a locomotive engineer in Souris July 1947 and then moved to Fort William for his job December 1948. Reg devoted many years firing steam engines, travelling back and forth to Ignace, working the elevator pocket jobs and finally retiring off of the Via Rail passenger train June 1989. Reg&rsquo;s proud moment was when he was able to work side by side with his son. <br /><br /><br /><br />Reg and Mary (Rudy) married on June 14, 1951 in Fort William and together raised one son Rob. They have been happily married for 62 years.<br /><br /><br /><br />Reg was a proud member of the Shuniah Lodge 287 - Very Worshipful Master as well as the Scottish Rite-C.I.C. and a 33 degree Mason. He was also a former member of the Khartum Temple, Shrine Drill Patrol.<br /><br /><br /><br />The most important in life was his wife, son, daughter-in-law and his 2 special grandchildren. Reg spent many hours at the hockey rink watching Trevor and Jonah play. He was their greatest fan. Many good times were had with family at their summer camp in Ignace. Reg loved fishing at Raleigh Lake, blueberry picking, gardening and tinkering around the yard. When the boys needed building supplies, Gedo&rsquo;s house was the first stop. Proud Baba and Gedo were a very big part of the boys&rsquo; lives. His positive attitude even in the most trying of circumstances were an inspiration to those who knew him. Reg overcame any obstacle thrown his way. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. <br /><br /><br /><br />Survived by his wife Mary, son Rob, daughter-in-law Rhonda, grandchildren Trevor and Jonah, sisters Cecilia Kelesnik of Morris, MB, Stella Patterson of Brandon &amp; sister in law Kay Urban of Hamilton.<br /><br /><br /><br />Predeceased by his parents John and Sophie, sisters; Mary, Annie, Nellie, Anne, Helen, Lucy and Emily and brothers; Fubian, Stan and Fred.<br /><br /><br /><br />Should friends so desire, donations may be made in Reg&rsquo;s memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association.<br /><br /></div>
