<div itemprop="description"><br />Passed away peacefully at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre following a short illness on March 31, 2013 in his 82nd year. He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Anne Fleming on February 22nd of this year. Survived by his daughter Anne (Donald Stock )(Bowmanville,ON), Michael (Shirley) and Robert; grandchildren Jeremy Stock and Mallory Louws (Jason), step-grandchildren Jason and Melissa Mrozek, great grandchildren Victoria and Ryan Stock, and great step-grandchildren Jayden and Sam Deas. Sam is also survived by his mother in law Minnie Bobie, sisters in law Helene Knox(Michel), Frances Gamble (Jim), Marlene Cook, and Judy Britt (Roland)(Edmonton, AB), brother in law Bill Plunkett and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Sam was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Flossie, sisters Becky Plunkett and Trudy Fleming, father in law Steve, brothers in law Bruce Knox and Gary Cook. Sam was born and raised in Fort William and attended Drew St Public School and Fort William Collegiate Institute. For most of his life he worked as a Millwright and was a member of the Millwrights Local 1151. Sam maintained a life-long interest in cars, tinkering for hours in his garage with his sons. He enjoyed his frequent drives with his late wife Anne and feeding the neighbourhood squirrels and crows. The family would like to thank the staff in the Intensive Care Unit at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for the wonderful care given to Sam during his stay there, especially Dr. Anderson, Dr. Scott, Meghan, Sam, Robert, Brenda, Michelle, Nancy and other support staff and physicians. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 4th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Jenkens Funeral Home with The Rev. Harold Hunt officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to the charity of your choice. <br /> <br /></div>
