Ronald Dale Kenneth Simpson, age 50, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Hospice. Ronald was enrolled in the Culinary Management program at Confederation College and employed in dining services by the Prince Arthur Waterfront Hotel until being diagnosed with cancer late in 2014. Ronald was baptized and confirmed at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church where he made many friends and participated in worship as an altar server and crucifer. Ronald’s community interests included engaging March of Dimes staff in cribbage contests, packing hampers at the Good Food Box, going on fishing trips, and attending the Lakehead University Thunder Wolves hockey games. He enjoyed taking his nieces on outings such as the annual excursion to the CLE. Cats Star and Sky and dog Cuddles were his beloved companions. Ronald is survived by his mother June Turner-Frost, sister Donna Appel, brother Leo Simpson, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Ronald’s life will be celebrated at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, 675 Red River Road, Thunder Bay, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 3, 2016, and his ashes will be interred in the St. Michael’s Church memorial garden at the end of the service. Fellowship and light refreshments in the church hall will follow. As Ronald wished, donations in his memory may be made to St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church or the Thunder Bay & District Humane Society.
