<div itemprop="description"><br> <br>It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Mary Jane Syryduk (nee Hnatchuk). She passed away peacefully in her sleep at her residence of Lakehead Manor on December 30, 2016 at the age of 94. She was born in Fort William on January 31, 1922. <br> <br>In her earlier years, Mary had been employed by the City of Fort William in the Health Department. She also worked for some time at the Royal Edward Hotel as well as Canada Car as an Inspector during WWII. <br> <br>Mary faced life’s challenges with a stalwart spirit! She always enjoyed taking time for a relaxing cup of tea and conversation with visiting family members. Her backyard was a source of joy and comfort during the summer months. Beloved Arrow Lake was a special spot for Mary throughout her life. <br> <br>Music was another source of pleasure, and she played the organ, often by ear, into her eighties and beyond! Mary will be dearly missed by family and friends. <br> <br>She leaves behind her son Paul (Charlene) of Lancaster, Ont.; daughter Janet (Lorne) McMillen; grandson Justin (Laurie) McMillen; great-grandchildren Christian McMillen and Noah Patterson as well as numerous nieces and nephews. <br> <br>Predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Paul Syryduk Sr. 1989; grandson Max McMillen 2002; sister Annette Tafe; brother Jack Natchuk. <br> <br>A private family memorial was held December 31, 2016. Interment will take place in May 2017 in Lappe Cemetery. Donations to Lakehead Manor - Residents Council would be appreciated by the family. <br> <br>Many thank you’s to Glacier Ridge and now Lakehead Manor for all of your sincere efforts and to Dr. MaGee-Adams and Dr. Johnson. <br> <br> <br> <br></div>
