It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Margaret Taddeo on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 with her family by her side in the comfort of her home. Mom was born on July 17, 1932 in Dryden, Ontario. Her childhood years were spent in Eagle River. She moved to Ignace in her teen years where she met and married the love of her life, Albert Taddeo. They married on September 2, 1950, moving to Thunder Bay and raising their daughters. Mom and dad cherished and enjoyed their lives together of 34 years, until dad’s tragic passing. Margaret was a pillar of support for her family, with her ability to nurture without judgement and accept every person who entered her life with open arms. Her family was her life. Mom was predeceased by her husband Albert in 1984, parents Bonnie and Hans Metzler, her brothers Alfred, James and Earl and sisters Nora and Yvonne. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her children Linda (Tony), Cheryl, Valerie, Brenda (Wayne) and Lorna as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews along with her 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. A graveside service for Mrs. Margaret Taddeo will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society would greatly be appreciated. Many heartfelt thanks to mom’s family physician, the cancer clinic doctors and staff, CCAC staff and nurses Paula and Josh for their special care for mom during her difficult struggle with cancer. Also, a special thanks to Romano Taddeo for being there for our mom.
