<div itemprop="description">On Friday, November 4, 2016, Lydia passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. <br> <br>Lydia was born January 25, 1939 and lived her entire life in Thunder Bay. She was a graduate of FWCI, Hamilton Teacher's College and Lakehead University. Lydia taught for the Lakehead District School Board for 35 years as a classroom and Special Education Teacher. She was a member of the ADK sorority, volunteered for the Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation among others. On retirement she pursued her passion for sewing through Creations by Lydia and Crafter's Corner. <br> <br>Through the years Lydia enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, curling and golf. She loved spending time at the family camp at Pike Lake with her children and grandchildren and more recently, attending hockey, basketball, football and dance recitals. For the last 20 years, Lydia enjoyed her winters in Mesa, Arizona. <br> <br>She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Walt; daughters Trish (Jim Glena) and Lisa (John Winslow, Airdrie, Alberta) and son Bob (Andrea MacInnis); grandchildren Brett and Tori Glena and Alexandra and Ian Winslow. Also survived by niece Suzanne (Andy Ritchie) and nephew Dave (Kim) Kwasny and their children. <br> <br>Lydia was predeceased by her parents Stephanie and Anton Muzyka and her in-laws Pearl and Paul Kwasnycia and Larry and Louise Kwasny. <br> <br>The family wishes to thank the highly-skilled, caring doctors, nurses and respiratory therapists of Emergency and ICU at TBRHSC. Many thanks to the professional Fire Rescue and EMS staff. <br> <br>According to her wishes, Lydia has been cremated and there will be no funeral. <br> <br>Should friends desire, donations to the Ontario Lung Association (COPD), TBRHSC Foundation or charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. <br> <br></div>
