<div itemprop="description"><br>Joyce Saidie Kuusela, resident of Thunder Bay and formerly of Murillo, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 1, 2016 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. She was 81. She was born in Fitzroy Harbour on May 27, 1935 to Saidie and Wilfred Allison. She met Albert Kuusela in Geraldton, Ontario and he became the love of her life. They moved to Port Arthur where they raised four children together. Joyce enjoyed homemaking, gardening and reading. Joyce and Bert spent many summers together at the family camp at Arrow Lake. Joyce loved dogs and became an accomplished groomer and breeder of standard and miniature poodles. She made many friends with her association with the Canadian Kennel Club. <br> <br>Joyce was a very intelligent person who enjoyed new challenges. Embracing technology such as her computer, digital camera, printer, scanner and her I-phone five. <br> <br>Joyce loved the quiet slower pace of country life in Murillo. She especially enjoyed living close to her sister and brother-in-law Lois and Herb Weeden. Joyce is survived by her son Douglas Kuusela (Claudia McNabb), daughter Carol DiCasmirro (Frank), daughter Darlene Pavletic (Tony) and son Robert Kuusela (Joanne); grandchildren Jessica Stieh (John), Johnathon Kuusela (Sarah), Nathan McPherson, Karen DiCasmirro (Jon), Diana DiCasmirro, Allison Oster (Ryan), Robert Pavletic, Alexandra Kuusela and Caitlin Kuusela; great grandchildren Issac, Amy, Benjamin, Gabriel Stieh, Madilynn and Rylan Moore; sister Lois Weeden (Herb); step-sister Vivian Suoboda; step-brothers Alan Cole, Kenneth Cole and Doug Cole (Irene). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. <br> <br>Joyce was predeceased by her husband Albert Kuusela, parents Saidie and Wilfred Allison; brothers Russel and Lloyd Allison; nephew Russel Allison; sister-in-law Kathleen Allison; brother-in-law Peter Suoboda; mother-in-law Martha Asmunt (Rieno) and father-in-law Henry Kuusela. <br> <br>Cremation has taken place and there will be an outdoor Celebration of Life on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 12:30 p.m. <br> <br>As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to the Ontario Lung Association or a charity of your choice. <br> <br> <br> <br></div>
