<div itemprop="description"><br> <br>Mr. John David Gothard (Chach) passed away unexpectedly on August 6, 2016 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. John was born in Fort William, Ontario on June 27, 1953. He was employed at Great Lakes Paper in 1970 and after 40 years of proud service retired in 2010 from Bowater Forest Products. John met Jo Anne in 1975 and they were married on June 11, 1977, sharing 39 years together. John had a passion for Nascar and enjoyed attending the Sprint Races with his life-long friend Rick (Elmer). He looked forward to his daily coffee visits with Rick and numerous friends. He had a kind heart and was always there to help a friend in need and loved to joke and laugh with friends. He was famous for his special recipe popcorn and was always happy to pop up a bowl. He is predeceased by his parents Mary and Norman Gothard and sister-in-law Denise Kerliuk. He is survived by his wife Jo Anne Gothard; daughter Jennifer (Louie); grand pups Babi and Frostman; brother Michael Gothard; in-laws Marion and Howard Everett; brother-in-laws Howard Everett, Randy and Maryn Everett as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Jenkens Funeral Home, 226 S. Syndicate Avenue, from 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016 at Jenkens Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Gordon Holroyd officiating.
