Mrs. Ione Forsyth passed away peacefully in Hospice on Monday June 15, 2015, at the age of 88 years, with family by her side. Ione came to Thunder Bay to work for Can Car as a ‘Rosie Riveter’ and later became a medical secretary. She enjoyed many activities throughout her life including golf, bridge, travel and fine dining. She was an amazing cook and hosted fabulous dinner parties. Ione was predeceased by her husband (G.E. ‘Red’ Forsyth), daughter-in-law (Marlene Stockla), siblings (Eunice, Ron, Lyle), as well as special friends (Bev and Ken). She is survived by her son Gary Stockla (Diana Smith); daughter Lynda Cooper (Don); grandchildren Amber (Erik Floen); Jayda (Mike Deprophetis); Curtis Cooper (Nicole); Ashley Aylward (Ryan) and her great-granddaughter Jorjie Aylward. She will be lovingly remembered by her brothers (Keith, Len, and Cliff) and their families. A ‘Celebration of her Life’ will be held on Friday June 19th at the Prince Arthur Hotel, from 2 PM to 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations towards St Joseph’s Foundation – Hospice, or the charity of your choice. The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you for the exceptional care and compassion provided by the teams of P.R. Cook Apartments and Hospice.

The best gifts in the world are not in the material objects one can buy from the store, but in the memories we make with the people we love.
