<div itemprop="description">It is with a tremendous sense of loss that the family of Eleanor Frances Pettersen announce her sudden passing at the age of 86. Eleanor passed away November 3rd, 2015 in her residence at 540 Oliver Road where she has resided for many years. She was the only child of Arnold and Eva Young (nee Lehto). She greatly enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing creating many blankets and articles of clothing including her own wedding dress. She also enjoyed the outdoors whether it was fishing with her father or skiing to school. In addition to these outdoor activities, Eleanor proved to be an accomplished five pin bowler bringing home numerous trophies. Eleanor had several jobs during her life finally retiring from Ontario Hydro after many years there. She also enjoyed traveling, making several trips to both Hawaii and The Dominican Republic, as well as other destinations. Above all else Eleanor&rsquo;s family was the most important part of her life. She was a loving child, spouse, mother and grandmother always there to help those in need. Eleanor was predeceased by her parents Arnold and Eva Young, her husband Rolf Pettersen, her daughter Catherine Guse and daughter in-law Heather Pettersen. She is survived by her daughter Susan (Frank) Herr and her son David Pettersen. Also surviving are her grandchildren Alison and Julia Herr and Jordan and Kiersten Pettersen. A Graveside Service for Mrs. Pettersen will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Following the interment, a reception will be held at Jenkens Funeral Home, 226 S. Syndicate Avenue. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to an animal shelter of your choice.</div>
