<div itemprop="description">The family of Dorothy Isabell Goose are saddened to announce her peaceful passing on Monday, January 30, 2017. <br> <br> <br>Dorothy was born in Boston, Mass. and as a young child moved to Saint John, New Brunswick. She joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in Ottawa in 1944, and it was there that she met Malcolm Goose. They were married on August 31, 1946. After their wartime service, they moved to Fort William and together raised a beautiful family of six children. <br> <br> <br>Dorothy is survived by daughters; Joanne Sigus, Linda (Bob) Turner, Kathy (Cal) Lark, sons Jim (Donna), and David (Karen), daughter in law Susan Goose, sister Joy Lockhart, and numerous nieces and nephews on the East Coast. <br> <br> <br>Dorothy and Malcolm were also blessed with 12 grandchildren: Jennifer, Sara, Steven, Michael, Linda, Laura, Lisa, James, David, Jamie, Samantha and Adam and 12 great grandchildren. <br> <br> <br>Dorothy was predeceased by her parents Robert and Sadie Rees, husband Malcolm, son Gary, sisters Beverly Rees and Lois Thomas, and son in law Enno Sigus. <br> <br> <br>Mom worked many years at McLeods store and then at Sears, retiring in 1989. In the years following she enjoyed quality time with her family and as Malcolm’s caregiver after his cancer surgery. <br> <br> <br>We are truly blessed to have had such a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will live in our hearts forever. <br> <br> <br>The family would like to extend a special thank you to all those who helped care for Dorothy these past few years at Sister Leila Greco apartments, and most recently, Hogarth Riverview Manor. Your kindness was very much appreciated. <br> <br> <br>Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 in Jenkens Funeral Home, 226 South Syndicate Ave. at 11:00 am with Rev. Joyce Yanishewski of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church officiating. Visitation with the family will be available one hour prior to service. <br> <br> <br>Internment will take place in Mountain View Cemetery at a later date.
