<div itemprop="description"><br>In loving memory of Clifford Kerslake, age 92 years, who passed away on Friday Nov 11, 2016 surrounded by his family at St. Joseph's hospital. <br> <br>Clifford was born in Elgin, Manitoba on January 7, 1924 to Jean and Lorne Kerslake. He was raised on the family farm until the family moved to Souris. Clifford served in WWII in the tank corps from April 1943 until he was discharged in 1946. Upon returning from England, he settled in Fort William, Ontario. Clifford worked at the Canadian Grain Commission as a weighman for 31 years, retiring in 1980. <br> <br>In May of 1951, he married the love of this life, Frances Mayer. They had 2 boys, Patrick and James. Clifford was heavily involved in and helped build both, Pinegrove United Church and Kakabeka Falls and rural district Royal Canadian Legion Branch 225. He remained a dedicated member until his passing. He has received many medals including most recently, the Palm leaf medal May 27, 2010, which is the Royal Canadian Legions highest honor for over 61 years of dedicated service. <br> <br>In retirement, Clifford enjoyed keeping busy by building trailers, plowing snow and gardening, even donating his fresh vegetables to the shelter house. Family was most important to Cliff, proudly making toys and spending lots of time with his sons and grandchildren. Clifford was predeceased by parents Jean and Lorne, siblings Jack, Marjorie and Bob. Survived by wife, Frances, brother Don (Lois), sons Patrick, James (Linda), grand children, Amanda, Tracey, Michelle (Chris), Gary and numerous nieces and nephews. <br> <br>There will be a private graveside ceremony for the late Clifford Kerslake at Stanley Hill cemetery, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Kakabeka Legion Wednesday November 16th, 2016 from 1 – 4 pm. <br> <br>If friends so desire, donations to the charity of their choice would be greatly appreciated. <br> <br></div>
