<div itemprop="description"><br /><br />Mrs. Betty Anne Dowell (Currie), age 82 years, passed away peacefully at Bethammi Nursing Home on Saturday, June 20, 2015. Betty Anne was born in Fort William on April 7, 1933. She later attended St. Patrick&rsquo;s High School and then St. Joseph School of Nursing (1954) graduating as a Registered Nurse. Her many interests included her family, hockey, especially the Toronto Maple Leafs, and she enjoyed betting $0.25 on them. She deeply loved her many dogs that she spoiled over the years. She entered and won several radio contests, loved talking on the telephone to stay in contact with family and friends. Fishing and camping with her numerous American friends that came up yearly was another hobby she enjoyed. Betty Anne was a devout Catholic and attended Corpus Christi. Mrs. Dowell will be lovingly remembered by her family; husband Tom Dowell; sons Dan Dowell (Linda) and their children Jarrett and Taylor, Gary Dowell and Timmy Dowell; daughter Donna Tomeck and partner Tom. She is also lovingly remembered by her brother Don Currie; sister Mary Jaya (Sha) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Hector and Mary Currie and several aunts and uncles. The Vigil for Mrs. Dowell will include visitation with the family from 6-8pm and Vigil Prayers at 7pm at St. Margaret&rsquo;s Church (Clayte St.) on Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Funeral Mass for Mrs. Dowell will be held in the church on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 11am. Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens will follow the luncheon at the church. Memorial donations to St. Joseph&rsquo;s Care Group &ndash; Bethammi Nursing Home, CNIB, George Jeffrey Children&rsquo;s Centre or Options Northwest &ndash; Kenwood Home would be appreciated by the family.<br /><br /><br /><br /></div>
